Lagazuoi (mt.2835) and Della Chiesa Bivouac (mt.2652)

With a drop of about 670 meters, the Lagazuoi Cable Car (one of the ten most beautiful in Europe) connects the Falzarego Pass with the summit of Mount Lagazuoi. There is a large parking lot at the base of the cable car. When you reach the top, take a deep breath, because the landscape will leave you speechless. Get your bearings, take photos, have a snack at the Refuge and then, backpack on your shoulders, continue by descending and then climbing up towards the Forcella Grande (trail 401 and then 20b). On the way down you will find some relics and historical reconstructions from the Great War. Take a short break at the Forcella Grande, which is often a bit windy, then continue to the Della Chiesa Bivouac (now closed and unusable). In front of the Bivouac stands an almost vertical wall with the Cesco Tomaselli via ferrata (exposed and challenging) on the southwest face of Punta Fanes Sud. The via ferrata is considered one of the most difficult in the Dolomites. If you are not particularly experienced and physically fit, the advice is not to try it; just watching those who climb is already quite a spectacle (bring binoculars). For the return, you can retrace your steps and take the cable car again, or walk down to the Falzarego Pass. A great day, a great memory!
