Monte Rite (mt.2183)

After passing through the village of Cibiana (known for its murals), drive up to the Forcella Cibiana and, next to the Rifugio Remauro (1536 m), you will find a shuttle service that takes you near the summit. Alternatively, you can walk up (about 2 hours) along the military road. The summit of Monte Rite is a strategic observation point that overlooks the entire Val Boite and beyond, so much so that during the Great War, it was chosen as an Italian artillery post. The remains of this, suitably restored, now house Messner's “Museum in the Clouds,” a destination for many tourists. At the top you can take short walks, lots of photos, enjoy the view, and there is also a good refreshment point.
